Counseling for Individuals

How can a counselor help me?

At Everett Christian Counseling, we offer Christ-centered, Biblically based counseling for individuals from all walks of life. Our Everett team would be delighted to partner with you as you work toward health and wholeness. We will offer you a safe, compassionate place to process whatever issues are preventing you from living into God’s will for your life. Whether you want to address a specific or ongoing problem, or just need someone to talk to, we are here to listen and provide tools for healing and growth.

In individual counseling, you and your Everett Christian counselor will work together to determine the issues you want to address and the goals you would like to realize. Your counselor will spend some time getting to know you, and from your interactions he or she will determine how to best help you as you seek healing in the counseling room. Your counselor can provide you with tools and resources to move beyond past hurts, overcome present challenges, and navigate future circumstances. He or she can also help you set goals, reconnect with God, and discover how to live with intention and integrity.

Marital and Pre-Marital Counseling

Why should we seek pre-marital counseling?

Between planning wedding events and organizing a honeymoon, it can be easy to spend more time getting ready for your big day than preparing for a life together. Pre-marital counseling is an excellent opportunity to make sure that you and your spouse-to-be make time for each other and ensure that you have the best possible start to your marriage. With one of our Everett Christian counselors, you and your spouse can address issues that commonly surface early in a marriage: handling each other’s families, finances, and household expectations to name a few. In pre-marital counseling, we can help you strengthen your bond and develop healthy communication skills that will lay the foundation for a lasting, fruitful and Godly marriage.

No one is ready for marriage. It takes a lifetime of hard work to create an intimate bond that God intends for husbands and wives. Let us at Everett Christian Counseling help you as you lay the foundation for a healthy, God-honoring life together.

How can couples counseling help our marriage?

Sometimes we imagine that our relationship with our spouse will always be easy, or at least become less challenging over time, but this is rarely the case. No matter who we are or how close our relationship with our partner, we will all have moments in marriage when we need a little help. A professional Christian counselor can foster a healthy environment in which you will be free to explore any issues and challenges that arise in the course of your relationship. Aided by one of our Everett Christian counselors, you and your partner can grow in intimacy and develop healthy communication strategies that will enrich your marriage for years to come.

Whether you are newly married and want help discussing defining boundaries with in-laws; or you have been married for years and wish to put the ‘spark’ back in your marriage; or you and your partner need help rebuilding trust after an affair, we are here to offer you judgment-free guidance and support. Christian marriage counseling can offer many benefits, including:

  • better communication
  • deeper levels of intimacy
  • overcoming past hurts
  • healing after an affair
  • discovering your spouse anew
  • developing a better sex life
  • confronting family challenges
  • learning to love deeper
  • increased awareness of God’s role in your relationship

We at Everett Christian counseling are passionate about helping couples develop healthy, happy marriages. Whatever issues you may be facing in your relationship, we would be delighted to accompany you on your journey to greater intimacy and deeper connection.

Counseling for Families

Why should families see a counselor?

At Everett Christian Counseling, we believe that families are complex systems—meaning that relational dynamics within families affect each member, both individually and socially. Very often we develop patterns within families that become normalized, but underneath the surface, these patterns may have debilitating effects on members. Family therapy can help you and your loved ones break free from harmful habits and learn to live and serve one another in Godly love.

There are many reasons that families decide to attend counseling together. Some of these may include:

  • communication problems
  •  member isolation
  • loss of a loved one
  • divorce or separation
  • substance abuse
  • parenting issues
  • other major transitions or losses

A family counselor can help you and your loved ones address these issues in a healthy, safe environment. At Everett Christian Counseling, we have seen families reunited and relationships restored; our Everett team is available to help you find reconciliation and closeness in your own home.

What will counseling be like?

In family counseling, we will seek to resolve the issues that are preventing your family from living well together. Sessions will be solution-focused, meaning that you will set goals as a family and strive to meet them together throughout your experience. Our time will be spent exploring the dynamics that control your family. Through this setting, your Everett Christian counselor will nurture communication, love, growth, and compassion. You will get the most out of family counseling if you are open to change, honest about yourself, and willing to address issues as a unit.

Do you provide Christian Counseling for teens?

Our Everett Christian counselors are specially trained to help teens deal with the challenges of adolescence. Whether in family therapy or one-to-one counseling, our Everett Christian counselors can assist your teen as he or she navigates the issues facing young people in our world today.

If you are a teenager and you are struggling through some of the most difficult years of life, we would like to help you. At Everett Christian Counseling, you can connect with one of our experienced and gifted Christian teen counselors, who will provide a non-judgmental ear to listen to your concerns. Sometimes it can be hard to talk to an adult about the problems you are experiencing, but we never want you to feel that you are alone. You can be assured that whatever challenges you may face, you will be welcome in our offices.
