Qualifications & Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from SUNY Buffalo in upstate New York and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University in the Bay Area of California. I also have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gottman Method of Therapy for Couples, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

My Call to Christian Counseling

As a child of immigrant parents, I witnessed my parents and siblings feeling lost, confused, and “othered” when attempting to integrate and navigate cultural differences in America and in NYC. Oftentimes my family found community with other minorities and immigrants as we shared the same sense of tenacity and resilience in our desire to lay down roots in a new and foreign land. I would be honored to channel this same tenacity and focus to help my clients navigate their various life struggles. My call to counseling really comes down to my desire to help others minimize the amount of stress and discomfort they encounter during various struggles of life.

I am happily married to my wife and we have two very active boys. I enjoy watching professional sports in my spare time as well as spending time traveling with my family, exploring local gems, and occasionally dabbling in outdoor activities.

Marriage Counseling / Couples Counseling / Relationship Issues

Whether a couple has been together for decades or a handful of years, relationships require intentional commitment to endure the ebbs and flows, excitement and lulls, and the joyous moments and inevitable hardships. It truly requires hard work to have two imperfect people come together and share their hearts and lives in a manner where both partners are seen and understood. I utilize attachment theory from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method to help create a safe environment for both partners to explore ways to strengthen the relationship. Together we will work to identify areas where there has been a disconnection as a result of one partner not feeling seen and understood, and take steps to repair the connection.

Infidelity and Affairs

When infidelity and affairs happen in a relationship, society often tells us it’s time to move on as the damage is irrevocably done. Indeed the process of reconciliation and healing will be difficult for those who desire relational repair, but it is possible as long as both partners are committed to staying together. For those who are on this journey, I’ll provide support for both partners to ensure a safe environment where you are seen and understood as we collaborate together on the next steps that are required to foster trust and restoration between partners.

Personal Development

I am a firm believer in the pursuit of growth and the journey of being life-long learners. Whatever season you may be in, whether it’s personal, professional, or spiritual, let’s tap into your desire for change and your motivation to improve a certain area in your life. We’ll go at a pace that’s right for you. The goal is to make progress that is meaningful and fulfilling.

Multicultural counseling

As an immigrant, many of my lived experiences of acculturation were painful and often left me feeling torn between my parents’ cultural identity and the different identity of my friends and social circles. I often felt lost, not understanding how to navigate between the two cultures and had feelings of being different or not belonging. These feelings made me question my identity, as at times I had to choose one culture over the other. I want to support you in embracing all aspects of your identity as well as your culture. I am committed to cultural humility and learning each person’s unique cultural context.

Sessions: I offer 53-minute sessions. Sessions can be held more than once per week, weekly, or every other week. Scheduling options are discussed in greater detail during your Risk-Free Initial Session.

Availability (by office location):

• Bellevue – Mondays and Tuesdays
• Online (WA Only) – Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Fees: I offer a Risk-Free Initial Session for individuals, couples, and families looking to pursue counseling with me. Please note that there is a fee for the Risk-Free Initial Session as it is a clinical hour and reimbursable to most insurance companies, but if you choose not to reschedule and continue therapy after the initial session, the entire fee for the session will be waived. For ongoing treatment, the full fee per session is required at the time of service.

Insurance: As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA), some insurance companies will reimburse for a portion of my services (as an Out-of-Network Provider). Please consult with your insurance provider as to whether they specifically cover adolescents, individuals, and couples.

Receipts/Statements: In the event you require a printed or digital receipt, I will provide receipts for personal use, insurance reimbursement, Flex Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).

Payment options: Cash, Check, or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express). A fee of up to 4% per transaction may be added for credit card payments.
