Qualifications & Experience

I received my Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biblical studies from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. I am currently credentialed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Associate Therapist. I am working on certificates in EMDR for trauma work and Filal Play therapy to help children.

My Call to Christian Counseling

Since I was a child, I knew I wanted a career helping people. I either wanted to be a teacher, a missionary, or a counselor. I ended up serving overseas conducting humanitarian endeavors for several years in my early 20’s. I developed a deep passion for helping unreached people groups and spent time in China, Russia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. I worked as a pre-school and infant teacher for 15 years. I have always valued relationships as the most important thing in my life. This has made transitioning into the role of a therapist effortless.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

I was born and raised in Seattle, WA. I grew up in a single parent home, which helped shape my desire to see couples and family relationships thrive. I left home when I was 18 to conduct humanitarian work in Asia. I stayed in the Philippines for four years working with orphans, local churches, schools, and indigenous people groups. I also spent time conducting mission work in China, Malaysia, and Russia. Living in other cultures deepened my understanding about how very different and yet how similar humans behave and what they value. In my free time I enjoy hiking, swimming, traveling, baking, and spending time with family, friends, and my adorable bunny Chestnut!

Couples and Relationship Counseling

Individual Counseling

Everyone struggles at times throughout their life. Whether you are experiencing a specific life change or have struggled with an issue your entire life, hope and healing are possible. Developing a strong therapeutic relationship is the key to progress on your journey in counseling. Counseling for Anxiety, Depression, and Stress

Dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress can take a toll on every aspect of your life. Together we can explore healthy coping mechanisms by using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Psychodynamic, and Evidence-based practices. We can work to shift your thoughts and behaviors to increase your well-being and add peace and hope back into your life. Trauma Therapy

Have you experienced pain? Abuse? Neglect? Traumatic experiences? If your life has included any kind of trauma, this has shaped and influenced your perspective on life and how you view and interact with the world around you. By using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative, Psychodynamic, and Neuroscience, you can begin to experience hope and healing, and reclaim your life. Together we can create a beautiful mosaic picture of how brokenness can turn into wholeness.

Counseling for Family Relationships

Are you experiencing exhaustion and conflict within your family? Does your family put the “fun” in dysfunction? By using structural and strategic therapy models, you can enjoy your family by creating clear boundaries within your family subsystems. You can regain focus and fulfillment within your closest relationships, while nurturing attachment bonds that strengthen ways to interact with each member.

Spiritual Counseling

Fees: I offer a Risk-Free Initial Session for individuals, couples, and families looking to pursue counseling with me. Please note that there is a fee for the Risk-Free Initial Session as it is a clinical hour and reimbursable to most insurance companies, but if you choose not to reschedule and continue therapy after the initial session the entire fee for the session will be waived. For ongoing treatment the full fee per session is required at the time of service.

Insurance: As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), some insurance companies will reimburse for a portion of my services (as an Out of Network Provider). Please consult with your insurance provider as to whether they specifically cover adolescents, individuals and couples.

Receipts/Statements: In the event you require a printed or digital receipt, I will provide receipts for personal use, insurance reimbursement, Flex Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).

Payment options: Cash, Check, or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, & American Express). A fee of up to 4% per transaction will be added for credit card payments.
