As your counselor, I will help you recognize where your true hope and peace can be found. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, or other issues, I will work with you to find healing in your own mind, heart, and soul, as well as relational healing with those around you. I have witnessed the amazing work of God in my own life and so many others, and it would be my privilege to walk with you as you seek to discover Him as your true source of lasting hope.

Online Counseling – Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri

As your counselor, I will help you work through any barriers to your progress and will greet you with positive energy and hope to create a safe environment where you can freely express yourself and your needs. Each client has their own pace of doing things and I will do everything I can to support your progress. Together we will identify and implement practical, proven techniques and methods to help you reach your goals and experience the healing and growth you desire.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

My goals as a counselor are to walk alongside my clients, supporting them, collaborating with them, and encouraging them while they gain skills to manage their challenges and make progress in their journey toward healing.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

I believe the key to making progress in counseling is to have a trusting relationship between client and therapist. Once that takes place, the next step is for me to learn what challenges you are managing, then explore options for redirecting what is not working. I will often assign homework so you can practice skills outside of sessions to help you work through problems. If you try things that do not work, then we can try other options you feel comfortable and confident using.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

Having God at the center of my life gives me direction and purpose. I have a clearer vision of how to navigate challenges in life that I would likely struggle with more if I did not use God as my compass. My approach to counseling is to accept each individual right where they are as God does and encourage them with hope in a world full of pain.

Qualifications & Experience

I have an MS in Mental Health Counseling, a BA in Psychology, and a BS in Interdisciplinary Science from Central Washington University. Additionally, I have an AA, an AAS in Management and Accounting and a Business Certificate from Peninsula College.
I have worked with people in various settings since high school. I have been a camp counselor for both junior high and high school, AWANA leader, and assistant youth leader. From young adulthood, I found myself making deep connections at my jobs until I decided to return to school to become a counselor.

My Call to Christian Counseling

I have experienced a great deal of trauma in my life and felt very alone trying to get through each of them, including working through my own recoveries. I have always been good with people, so I followed God’s voice and decided to get my education to work with others who are struggling so I could be that person who was not there for me.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

I have one adult daughter and one granddaughter. I love the outdoors and will try anything, but I mostly love hiking, bike riding, aerobics, watersports, skiing, and snowboarding. When I’m not doing physical activities, I love spending time with my family and friends enjoying their company. I have a very diverse background with life experiences and career changes including military service and living in California, Oregon, and Washington. I have spent most of my life with God at my center and following His lead. My character is a combination of sassy, classy, a bit of tomboy, and humor. I love people and am open minded to learn from everyone around me, including my clients.

Anxiety

I will help you identify how thoughts lead into how we view life, our sense of safety, and developing thought patterns that decrease our productivity. Together we can look for alternate ideas and techniques that will lead to a more peaceful and productive lifestyle.

Depression

The main focus with depression is to identify thoughts behind our feelings. Once we identify how these two elements work together, we can begin to reframe thoughts into more helpful and positive ways to consider life, along with increasing activities that once brought you joy. Getting active can be challenging and sometimes the first step is to convince ourselves to do something first before we start to feel better.

Individual Counseling

I look forward to developing a working relationship with you and helping you identify your needs. With God in the midst, I will walk alongside you, at your pace, and encourage you on your journey to a better version of yourself.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Are you struggling with being able to focus, or with trusting others or the world around you? Maybe you are longing for closer relationships but struggle with allowing others to get close for fear of getting hurt again. Together we can identify how your PTSD is affecting you, process through your trauma, identify stuck points, and work toward healing with God at the helm.

Trauma

Experiencing a traumatic event can leave us feeling unable to feel safe. I will work with you to identify how your trauma experience has affected you and then identify how we can reframe your worldview and beliefs about yourself and others that will bring you healing and freedom from your painful past.
